Delta Government Debunks Rumour of Uduaghan’s Death
The Delta State Government has dismissed reports circulating on some online platforms claiming that former Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, has died.
Reacting to the reports, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Mr. Ossai Ovie Success, described the information as false and misleading.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page titled “Former Governor Uduaghan is Alive – Death Rumour False,” Ossai said he immediately contacted the family of the former governor to verify the claim.
According to him, he spoke directly with Dr. Uduaghan’s daughter, Orode Uduaghan, who confirmed that her father is alive and in good health.
“I have seen reports circulating online alleging that former Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, is dead. Following inquiries from concerned members of the public, I reached out to his family and spoke with his daughter, Orode Uduaghan, who confirmed that the report is completely false,” he stated.
Ossai condemned the spread of unverified information, describing it as irresponsible and insensitive.
“Spreading false news about someone’s death is cruel and causes unnecessary distress to family members, friends, and the many Deltans who hold Dr. Uduaghan in high esteem,” he added.
He urged members of the public to disregard the rumour and refrain from sharing unconfirmed reports.
The clarification has brought relief to many residents across the state following reports published by some online media outlets suggesting that the former governor had passed away.
The Delta State Government reaffirmed that Dr. Uduaghan is alive, well, and is not dead.
