Lagos Government Partners Nigerian Air Force to Deploy Drones for Improved Security Surveillance
The Lagos State Government has entered into a partnership with the Nigerian Air Force to introduce drone technology aimed at strengthening security monitoring across the state.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu stated that the drones, fitted with advanced surveillance cameras, will allow security agencies to observe vast areas within a short time, offering faster coverage compared to traditional ground patrol methods.
He noted that the drones will stream real-time video footage to a central command center, enabling security personnel to identify suspicious activities and monitor difficult-to-access locations, especially around the international airport and coastal regions.
The governor added that the use of drone technology is expected to enhance early threat detection and improve overall security operations, reducing reliance on road patrols while boosting safety across Lagos State.
