The Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Doha has announced an emergency evacuation plan for Ghanaian nationals living in Qatar following growing security concerns in the Middle East region.

The embassy stated that the move follows an earlier notice issued on March 6, 2026, informing citizens about developments in the region.
“The Embassy of the Republic of Ghana in Qatar wishes to refer to its earlier notice dated 6th March, 2026 and to inform all Ghanaians living in Qatar that the Government of the Republic of Ghana has decided to undertake an emergency evacuation exercise in Qatar in the wake of the heightened security situation in the Region,” the statement said.
According to the mission, the arrangement is designed solely to bring nationals back home.
“It is noted that this arrangement is strictly a one-way evacuation exercise to Ghana,” the embassy added.
Ghanaians who intend to participate in the evacuation have been asked to promptly confirm their interest with the embassy.
“Accordingly, Ghanaians in Qatar who wish to be evacuated immediately from Qatar to Ghana are kindly requested to re-confirm their interest by submitting the biodata pages of their passports by email to doha@mfa.gov.gh latest Tuesday, 17th March, 2026,” the statement said.
The embassy did not immediately disclose the number of citizens expected to be evacuated but urged nationals in Qatar to comply with the instructions within the stipulated deadline.
