The authorities of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, have rusticated a 200-level student, Ezi Ugoma, for four semesters after she allegedly filmed a dying student at the university health centre and shared the video on TikTok.
In a letter signed by the Principal Assistant Registrar (Students’ Affairs), the institution stated that Ugoma, a student of the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Science, violated the matriculation oath through her actions.
According to reports, the student appeared before the Students’ Disciplinary Committee, where she was charged with gross misconduct and breach of the matriculation oath for “inappropriately recording, with a mobile phone, the scene of a dying student at the University Health Centre and uploading it to TikTok.”

Following the committee’s decision, Ugoma was suspended for four semesters, effective from the 2025/2026 academic session, and will be eligible to resume in the 2027/2028 session.
The disciplinary letter stated:
“Accordingly, you are hereby rusticated for four academic semesters with effect from the 2025/2026 academic session and are to resume studies during the 2027/2028 academic session.”
The university added that copies of the letter had been sent to her sponsors and other relevant authorities within the institution for their information and necessary action.
