The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the ongoing nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will officially come to a close on Tuesday, December 10, 2025.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, December 3, the Commission confirmed that the Display of the Register of Voters for Claims and Objections will commence from December 15 to 21, 2025, in line with Section 19 of the Electoral Act 2022.
The announcement, signed by the Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Mrs. Victoria Eta-Messi, stated that the display exercise will hold across Local Government Offices where in-person registrations took place.
According to INEC:
“Nigerians may recall that the ongoing nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) commenced with online pre-registration on 18th August 2025, followed by in-person registration on 25th August 2025 across the 774 Local Government Areas, all State Offices, and the FCT.”
INEC added that the first quarter of the CVR exercise will officially shut down on December 10, 2025, urging all eligible citizens — especially those who registered, transferred, or updated their details — to take advantage of the display period to:
Verify their personal information
Report incorrect or incomplete entries
Identify ineligible or deceased persons on the register

The Commission emphasized that active public participation is crucial to the integrity of the nation’s voter register.
