The Itsekiri Community Abuja today held its highly anticipated 2025 End-of-Year Get-Together, a vibrant celebration dedicated to showcasing and preserving rich Itsekiri culture within the Federal Capital Territory. The event, which took place at the Julius Berger Senior Staff Camp (Club House), Opposite 7up Bottling Company, Idu – Abuja, gathered a distinguished audience of Itsekiri sons and daughters, cultural enthusiasts, leaders, and families.
This year’s celebration was chaired by Dr. Martin Ogharandukun, who commended the community for sustaining unity, cultural identity, and peace among Itsekiris living in Abuja. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of cultural engagement and solidarity in diaspora communities.
A major highlight of the ceremony was the presence of the Father of the Day, Chief L. A. Wilbert (Agura-Tete of Warri Kingdom), who represented His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, the Olu of Warri. His representation brought royal honour to the event, and he delivered a goodwill message on behalf of the monarch, encouraging the community to maintain unity, uphold cultural values, and continue fostering development in the FCT.
